Pastor Phil Molloy reflects on the auspicious occasion:
“I have had the very great honour of leading the Remembrance Day service at the Capilla de las Mil Palmeras this weekend.
The organisation of the event by the RNA Torrevieja branch chairman Tony Jenkins, along with Kevin Riordan of The Leader and Francisca Samper of Pompas Fúnebres in Pilar de la Horadada, was exceptional.
There are lots of moving cogs in a well-oiled wheel of military, political, church and civilian unity.

The many visiting Spanish dignitaries, politicians, police, military, plus our own veterans, pipes and drums, musicians … so many involved in making the day truly special was remarkably humbling.
To be part of such a momentous and solemn yet inspiring event, makes one feel hopeful for peace and harmony both near and far.
Wouldn’t it be great to see more of the younger generations attending in respect and honour of those who gave their lives for our freedoms?”
